Our Nordic Marine Collagen and Rejuvenate were formulated to be taken together for optimal results. Collagen is made up of three key amino acids; Glycine, Proline, and Hydroxyproline. Proline is the precursor of hydroxyproline, which is involved in the formation of collagen. Proline and Hydroxyproline rely on vitamin C for the formation of collagen. Rejuvenate contains more than 200mg of vitamin C and an abundant source of antioxidants in each serving.
Gut Replenish is intended to be taken alone, as part of your morning or evening routine. It contains a variety of prebiotic fibres including soluble, insoluble, and resistant starch, in addition to two high-potency doses of probiotics to support the gut microbiome system.
All of the Iluminos products, as well as other products in the Indigo Blu Organics community, are proudly manufactured in Australia with the highest quality, natural and organic ingredients sourced from all around the world.
Yes. All the Iluminos products and other products in the Indigo Blu Organics community undergo thorough testing at NATA accredited laboratories in Australia. Every batch is tested for microbiological and gluten/soy/dairy allergens, ensuring that our products are safe and suitable for consumption.
Nordic Marine Collagen
The Iluminos Nordic Marine Collagen is sourced from the skin of wild, deep-sea Arctic cod fish that live in the pristine waters of Norway and the surrounding Faroe Islands. Every batch of Nordic Marine Collagen can be traced back to the fishing vessel from which the wild-caught cod came. After the cod flesh is sold, the skin is hydrolysed to create low-molecular weight collagen.
Iluminos Nordic Marine Collagen is produced exclusively from wild-caught cod skin. Fish skin is considered a premium collagen source and does not require harsh chemicals for processing like scales do.
Seagarden is a major producer of marine-based ingredients from Norway. For years, Seagarden has focused on using Nordic wild-caught raw materials from sustainable fishing stocks and most of their products are certified by MSC (Marine Stewardship Council), which guarantees that the product comes from sustainable sources. This is important because fish and seafood are the life support for coastal communities but there is a limit to the biological resources of the ocean and how much harvesting it can sustain.
Through cooperation with respected suppliers like Seagarden, we endeavour to offer the highest quality, natural, and organic food products to the market and provide support to our environment.
Iluminos Nordic Marine Collagen is produced from wild-caught cod skins that are harvested in Norway and follow strict MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certified practices, making this marine collagen one of the few in the world that qualifies as MSC Certified.
The MSC program considers the environmental sustainability of wild-capture fisheries. Fisheries are independently assessed by MSC to meet three main standards:
- Sustainable fish stocks; Are enough fish left in the ocean? Fishing must be capped at a level that ensures the ecosystem can continue indefinitely and the fish population can remain productive and healthy.
- Minimising environmental impact; What are the impacts? Fishing activity must be managed carefully so that other species and habitats within the ecosystem remain healthy.
- Effective fisheries management; Are operations well managed? MSC certified fisheries must comply with relevant laws and be able to adapt to changing environmental circumstances.
After the fishery is initially certified, each following year it is reassessed. As technology and science advances, the fisheries are encouraged to establish new innovative ways of conserving marine resources for future generations.
Collagen is a fibrous protein and the most important protein in our body supplying all of the required amino acids for the growth of connective tissues and skin.
Collagen peptides are hydrolysed (broken down) forms of collagen consisting of a group of oligopeptides with low molecular weight, which is easier for our body to absorb. Iluminos Nordic Marine Collagen contains only type I collagen peptides for maximum bioavailability.
Our Nordic Marine Collagen is on average 3000 Daltons, which is small in particle size, meaning lower in molecular weight and therefore more bioavailable. Dalton is the unit of measurement used to describe the mass weight of molecules such as proteins.
The bioavailability of marine collagen peptides has proven to be far more superior to bovine or porcine collagen and has also shown to be 1.5 times more effective than collagen from bovine or porcine. These two clinically-studied findings are why Iluminos utilises collagen from a marine source.
The marine collagen by itself has a mild taste and smell, however, the Iluminos product, Nordic Marine Collagen, with the addition of natural flavours, effectively masks the subtle ‘fish’ smell and taste.
There is 5.84g of Nordic Marine Collagen Peptides in each 6g serving.
Consume Rejuvenate as part of your morning or evening routine. Add to water, juice, smoothies, yogurt or add to the Iluminos Nordic Marine Collagen for an extra beauty from within.
Although it is not traditionally thought of as fibre, resistant starch is a type of dietary starch that acts in a similar way and ‘resists’ digestion in our small intestine until it arrives in the large bowel.
A CSIRO research has shown that resistant starch provides fuel and is important for supporting a healthy gut microbiome. In the large bowel, resistant starch can be broken down into short-chain fatty acids, such as butyrate, by gut bacteria via fermentation. Butyrate is critical for keeping gut function normal and healthy.
Most Australians do not consume enough fibre 1. The recommended daily consumption of dietary fibre should be 25-30g. Resistant starch can be found in unprocessed cereals and wholegrains, chickpeas, lentils, and green (unripe) bananas.
Each serving of Iluminos Gut Replenish contains 1.3 grams of resistant starch which is made from organic green bananas. With soluble and insoluble dietary fibres, as well as probiotics, Gut Replenish is formulated to help maintain a healthy digestive system.
Sunfiber® is the world’s most researched soluble fiber. It is derived from the guar plant, grown in arid western India. Sunfiber® is an all-natural prebiotic soluble fiber that supports digestive health in two ways:
- It helps food move through your gut at just the right pace, improving digestive upset.
- It feeds the good bacteria in your gut, promoting healthy gut flora which contributes to overall wellness.
Enjoy Gut Replenish as part of your morning routine to get the most benefit out of your day. Gut Replenish can also be taken at night. Mix with water, juice, yogurt, smoothie, or porridge.
Gut Replenish is suitable for people on a low FODMAP diet and is Monash University Low FODMAP CertifiedTM. FODMAPs are a group of dietary sugars that are indigestible or poorly absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. Samples of Gut Replenish have been analysed and were assessed to be low in FODMAPs.
